Infrastructure of Play Therapy 

(January 12-13, 2018) 

12 CE hours

​This course is designed to provide the therapist with the basic building blocks of play therapy. Participants will engage in activities, including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include setting up a play room, selecting & arranging materials, stages of play, types of play therapy, & communication with others regarding the importance & impact of play therapy.

Theories of Play Therapy 

(February 9-10, 2018)

12 CE hours

This course is designed to provide the therapist with a solid background knowledge of play therapy history & theories. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include research, founders & theories of play therapy, play therapy themes, identifying methods to meet client’s needs, & self-care.

Diagnosis, Assessment and Treatment Planning in Play Therapy 

(March 9-10, 2018) 

12 CE hours

This course is designed to provide the therapist with strategies to conduct assessment & treatment planning with clients. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include DC: 0-5, case studies, interviewing families, & meeting individual needs.

Sandtray and Storytelling Basics 

(April 13-14, 2018)

12 CE hours

This course is designed to provide the therapist with the basis or sandtray & storytelling. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Each participant will be provided with a portable sandtray. Participants will be required to bring in a set of miniatures to use. Topics include assessment, categories, themes & process

Multigenerational and Family Play Therapy 

(June 8-9, 2018)

12 CE hours

This course is designed to provide the therapist with guidelines in working with families as well as non-traditional clients. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include family culture, traditions & beliefs, assessment with families, communicating about the effectiveness of play therapy, & working with different ages.

Developmental Delays, Autism, and Sensory Needs in Play Therapy 

(July 13-14, 2018)

This course is designed to provide the therapist with information to work with clients & special needs. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include play development, delays due to trauma or attachment issues, AutPlay®, behaviors based on sensory needs, & collaborating with other providers

This course is designed to provide the therapist with the basis of how abuse, trauma & grief impact development in children. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include evidence-based practice, post-traumatic play, family support & the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics

Diverse Populations and Ethics in Play Therapy

This course is designed to enhance the multi-cultural competency of the therapist with guidance regarding ethics & working with diverse populations. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include discussing ethical conundrums, & working with diverse populations

Expressive Arts and Play Therapy

This course is designed to provide the therapist with guidelines to provide expressive arts activities in play therapy. Participants will engage in activities including role play, reflection & small group discussion. Topics include materials for the playroom, cultural considerations, different modes of expression, & self-care.
